The police intends to question Hennadiy Kernes, Kharkiv city council secretary, on four criminal cases, a press -release circulated by the press-service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, announces.
In particular, they are going to question Kernes on the criminal case of theft offense and bodily injuries brought in June 2006 by the investigation department of the Chervonozavodskyi district division of the Kharkiv city internal affairs department.
Police officers intend to question Kernes on the case of organizing attempted murder brought by the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office.
He will also be questioned on cocaine storage and trade.
Kernes is suspected of being involved in all these three criminal cases, according to the press-service. Kernes will also be questioned on the case of hurting a person in the premises of the Kharkiv executive committee and threatening bodily harm to victim's family members.
As Ukrainian News reported, Hennadiy Kernes, secretary of the Kharkiv city council, has not come today's morning to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to give testimony about a deliberate murder case.
The Party of Regions is calling on the Prosecutor-General's Office (PGO) to file a criminal case against Interior Affairs Minister Yurii Lutsenko for the violations that the party believes were committed during the detention of the Kharkiv municipal council's head Hennadiy Kernes.
Kernes thinks his detention is Lutsenko's desire to settle accounts with him.
The police detained Kharkiv city council secretary Hennadiy Kernes July 22 in order to give testimony about a deliberate murder case.
The questioning was interrupted at the end of the working day and they tried to hand over the summons for Kernes to come for further questioning at 9:00 a.m. July, 23.
On June 24, Kharkiv region's chief prosecutor Vasyl Sinchuk filed a criminal case against of Kharkiv municipal council Secretary Hennadii Kernes on suspicion of assaulting deputy Rudenko and his aide Svitlana Semko on June 20.
