Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Administration Serhii Lekar made this statement to the press.
He said that around 360 people received income of over UAH 10 million in 2007.
Lekar noted that the tax agency registered no citizens with last year's income exceeding UAH 1 billion.
He stressed that the administration reports better payment of taxes, a more weighted approach to their payment and declaration of incomes by famous people and public figures, for example artists, musicians and athletes.
Lekar noted that Sofia Rotaru, for example, reported the highest income of all celebrities.
On the whole, the number of citizens with incomes exceeding UAH 1 million, including entrepreneurs, was 9,981 in 2007.
Last year the amount of declared incomes was UAH 30.2 billion; in 2006 the figure was at the level of UAH 19.2 billion.
As of June 1, the number of citizens who submitted income declarations for 2007 was 526,600.
