Sergei Fiodorovivh Letov (born in Semipalatinsk in the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic on September 24, 1956) is a Russian musician, saxophonist, improviser, and founder of the Pentagramma music publication. He engages in mastering compact discs.
Sergei Letov plays saxophone (soprano, tenor, and baritone), bass clarinet, and lute (including piccolo and alto flute), wooden ethnic spiritual instruments, and instruments invested by him.
He worked with numerous groups and musicians, including his brother Yegor Letov and his Granzhdanskaya Oborona group, Sergei Kuriokhin and his Pop Mekhanika project, Aleksei Borisov and Ivan Sokolovsky, the DK group, Valentina Ponomariova, and the Rada and Ternovnik group.
He composed music for films, acted in films, and appeared in radio and television programs.
He is the author of music for plays by the Theater on Taganka, MKhAT, and other theaters in Moscow, Italy, and Austria.
