Prime-minister Yulia Tymoshenko wishes strong health, family well-being and successes to workers of metallurgy and mining industry on the occasion of the professional holiday.

The Premier notes manhood of mining and smelting field workers, who chose hard but respectful in society profession, and thanks to whom the country budget receives billions of hryvnias.
Tymoshenko also promised that the Government will do everything that a metallurgist get wages not less than in Russia or European countries.
She pointed out that the Cabinet of Ministers is in the mood to overcome consequences of high prices for energy carriers, and to help metallurgists and miners with modernization of production.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Day of metallurgy and mining industry workers is celebrated in Ukraine on the third Sunday of July (it had been called the Day of metallurgist by July 2006).
The Day of metallurgist was introduced in 1958 by the resolution of the USSR Supreme Council Presidium. In independent Ukraine this holiday celebration was brought by the President's decree in 1993.
