Lytvyn Doubts Yuschenko To Withdraw His Draft Amendments To State Budget-2008 (10:45, Saturday, July 19, 2008)

Volodymyr Lytvyn, leader of the Volodymyr Lytvyn Bloc faction in Verkhovna Rada, leader of the People's Party, doubts that President Viktor Yuschenko will withdraw his draft amendments to the state budget-2008, the People's Party press-service announced in a circulated press-release.

"I think the President will not withdraw his draft amendments. If does, then he might be asked why he introduced them", Lytvyn said.

At the same time, Lytvyn noted that the issue on amendments to the state budget-2008 had entered the stage of personal confrontation between Yuschenko and Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

As Ukrainian News reported, the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc faction in the Verkhovna Rada is insisting that President Viktor Yuschenko should withdraw his draft changes to the 2008 national budget.

The bloc is ready to initiate a special parliament session to consider budget changes after Yuschenko recalls his bill.

The Verkhovna Rada committee for budget is prepared to convene for a meeting on draft laws amending the 2008 national budget of the president and the government after Tymoshenko and Yuschenko arrive at agreement on the amendments.

Tymoshenko called on the Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense Bloc faction, especially MPs from the Yedynyi Tsentr party, to support an initiative on holding an extraordinary session of the parliament on amendments to the 2008 national budget.

President Viktor Yuschenko urges coalition to adopt amendments to the state budget for 2008 at extraordinary session of Verkhovna Rada.
