The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated a financing of UAH 1.424 to take measures for return of Ukrainian sailors freed by Somali pirates from Oman.
Ukrainian News learned this from Cabinet directive No.941 of July 16.
The government has allocated this financing to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Finance from the reserve fund of the national budget.
Before the end of 2008, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance and the State Treasury are to submit reports on the use of these funds.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Somali pirates freed four Ukrainians and other hostages in the Gulf of Aden on July 8 after receiving a ransom and left the Lehmann Timber ship.
The pirates hijacked the Lehmann Timber ship on May 28 with 15 people on board, including four Ukrainian citizens.
