The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is ready to build register of reports on corruption it receives in order to step up public control over their investigation.
Ukrainian News learned this from the SBU press service, referring to deputy head of the SBU Tiberii Durdynets.
"We are ready keep a special register of corruption reports, in order our work to be transparent and give public account on results of the performed checkups," the press service cites T. Durdynets.
The SBU deputy head calls for public organizations get involved into the fight against corruption.
"These are public organizations that can become reliable partners of the Security Service of Ukraine in receiving information about facts of bribery and corruption among persons authorized to perform state functions," the press service quotes T. Durdynets.
He added that the SBU plans to inform public organizations about materials on corruption sent to law courts for public control over holding corruptionists liable.
As Ukrainian News reported, earlier acting head of the SBU Valentyn Nalyvaichenko spoke in favour of extending functions of Ukrainian and international nongovernmental organizations to influence the situation with the combat against corruption within the state.
