Vice Prime Minister Hryhorii Nemyria left for Brussels (Belgium) on a two-day working visit to meet with officials of the European Union.
This follows from a statement made by the deputy premier's press service.
During the visit H. Nemyria will have meetings with the European Council's Secretary-General Javier Solana, the European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner, the European Commissioner for External Trade Peter Mandelson, and with the European Commissioner for Energy Andris Piebalgs.
H. Nemyria will discuss the progress in negotiations on the enhanced EU-Ukraine agreement and on the free trade zone.
Apart from this, H. Nemyria will meet with NATO Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, and also with representatives of the North-Atlantic Council, with whom he will discuss cooperation between Ukraine and NATO.
Besides, the deputy premier will take part in a conference of the World Bank.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, on June 19, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko visited Brussels for meeting with officials of the European Union and for participating in a summit of the European People's Party.
