The Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko supports the idea of giving 226 seats in parliament to the party that wins a majority vote at the Verkhovna Rada elections.
BYT faction member Andrii Portnov said this on Channel 5 last Tuesday.
"We are ready to support this point," he said.
As he put it, the constitutional changes developed by his bloc also provide for this point.
"The version that we would submit to parliament if we could hope to win 330 votes also stipulates that a political force that wins a majority vote receives 226 mandates and builds a coalition," he said.
Portnov noted that his bloc is ready to support the idea of parliamentary elections based on open election lists but with some reservations, which he did not specified.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in its constitutional changes, the Party of Regions suggests giving 226 mandates only when the number of mandates of the party that won more votes than others does not make a parliamentary majority.
