Japan has decided to give USD 200 million for the realization of projects with the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova).
President Viktor Yuschenko announced this to the press at the third summit of the GUAM in Batumi (Georgia) on July 1.
"Japan agreed to provide USD 200 million for projects of the GUAM," Yuschenko said.
He said the projects concerned the transport sector and tourism. Yuschenko gave no further details.
Yuschenko said more detailed proposals would be drawn up within two months.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Japan on March 25 said it was interested in organizing comprehensive economic projects with GUAM.
