Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko claims that the state automobile roads service Ukravtodor misused UAH 500 million when building roads in 2007.
She announced this at a telephone conference with governors, devoted to road issues.
In her words, the Main Control Auditing Department disclosed the irregularities.
"The Main Control Auditing Department has just begun the checkup and already revealed misapplication of UAH 0.5 billion for the first several months of 2007," she marked.
In particular, the premier stressed that prices of road maintenance works were overstated without any valid reason.
Moreover, Yu. Tymoshenko said that some of the works, for which money were allocated, were never performed.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukravtodor was established in 2001 as a central organ of executive power to manage public motor roads.
