Secretariat Troubled With UAH 7.9 Billion Of VAT Not Reimbursed (11:04, Monday, June 30, 2008)

The President's Secretariat is troubled with the accumulated amount of non-reimbursed value added tax equal to UAH 7.9 billion.

First deputy head of the Secretariat Oleksandr Shlapak has announced this to the press.

In his words, the above-mentioned sum includes UAH 3.6 billion on overdue arrears on VAT refunds and UAH 1.2 billion of indebtedness admitted by the Tax Administration but not reimbursed.

O. Shlapak stressed that in the situation when the government stock UAH 30 billion at its single treasury account, such non-reimbursement of the VAT is inadmissible.

"Why is the VAT not reimbursed when money are available?" he asks.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, by June 1, 2008, overdue arrears on VAT refunds made UAH 3.6 billion.
