NBU Council Vetoes Board Decision On Hryvnia Revaluation (16:55, Thursday, May 22, 2008)

The National Bank of Ukraine council has vetoed the decision of the management board on revaluation of hryvnia.

Ukrainian News has learned this from a representative of Ukrhazbank referring to member of the NBU council Vasyl Horbal.

"The NBU council has put a veto on the board's decision with Stelmakh abstaining," he said.

As Ukrainian News reported, the National Bank raised the hryvnia's official exchange rate by 20 kopecks to 4.85 UAH/USD.

On May 22 interbank hryvnia rate fell by 23.5 kopecks to 4.8 UAH/USD
