National Bank of Ukraine

The Council of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU Council) plans to consider the results of the implementation of its monetary and credit policy during the January-April period of this year on May 22.

A representative of the NBU Council announced this to Ukrainian News.

"Issues involving the implementation of the basis for monetary and credit policy in the first four months are planned for consideration," the representative said.

Moreover, the NBU Council may change its agenda to allow consideration of the hryvnia's forecast annual average exchange rate in 2008.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the parliament and the President of Ukraine appoint equal number of members if the NBU Council.

The chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine is also a member of the council.

The NBU Council is the strategic management organ of the National Bank of Ukraine.
