Experts consider that 20-25 of 75 Kyiv city mayoral candidates are counterfeiters.
Experts disclosed this in a statement at a roundtable entitled "Role of counterfeit candidates at mayoral elections," which was held at the press center of Ukrainian news.
In particular, press secretary of the Voters Committee Oleksandr Chernenko is sure that these 20-25 candidates aim serving major candidates.
Chernenko said that Oleksandr Turchynov's counterfeit-candidates are Oleksii Artiukhyn, Yurii Kliuchynskyi and Anatolii Tytechko; Leonid Chernovetskyi's one is Bohdan Bobrovskyi; and Oleksandr Omelchenko's counterfeit-candidate is Leonid Omelchenko.
According to Chernenko, the crucial task of the counterfeiters is holding of judicial cases in favour of major candidates, introduction of representatives into district election commissions, creation of chaos and mess on the day of the elections.
The expert considers that easy procedure allowed registration of so many candidates.
Director of Kyiv institute of management problems named after Horshenin, Kost Bondarenko marks three major tasks of counterfeit-candidates.
In particular, they will withdraw votes from major candidates, confuse the voters and use their election funds.
He also said that head offices of the political forces check effectiveness of the method on the eve of the presidential elections in 2010 and intend to use it.
Bondarenko considers that it is impossible to battle "counterfeit candidates."
In his turn, Situations Modeling Agency director Vitalii Bala, director of Polittech PR-group Taras Berezovets and chief editor of the Kommentarii newspaper Vadym Denysenko consider Mykola Katerynchuk a counterfeiter of Chernovetskyi.
They say that Katerynchuk Bloc's election list contains names of four people, who are friends or relatives of current Kyiv city mayor Leonid Chernovetskyi.
They also confirm their opinion with the fact that Katerynchuk's outdoor advertisements occupy the best sites in the city.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Katerynchuk had denied he is counterfeit-candidate of Chernovetskyi.
The Verkhovna Rada scheduled Kyiv city council and mayoral elections for May 25.
A total of 75 candidates will take part in the mayoral elections, and 37 parties and blocks in the city council elections.
