GDP 6.7% Up In April (18:21, Thursday, May 15, 2008)

In April, real gross domestic product rose by 6.7%, compared to April 2007, to UAH 76,807 million.

This was disclosed by the State Statistics Committee.

In January-April GDP rose by 6.2%, compared to January-April 2007, to UAH 266,575 million.

In January-April the major GDP growth was due in trading, it amounted to 15.3%, in refining industry by 9.4% and in transport by 8.2%.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in March, real gross domestic product rose by 6.5%, compared to March 2007, to UAH 71,211 million.

In January-March GDP rose by 6.0%, compared to January-March 2007, to UAH 189,768 million.

According to the precised data of the State Statistics Committee, in 2007, real gross domestic product rose by 7.6%, compared to 2006, to UAH 712,945 million.

In 2006 GDP rose by 7.3%.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the major macroeconomic indicators of Ukraine's development, including GDP growth at the level of 6.8% and inflation rate - 7.8% for 2008.
