Haz Ukrainy, a subsidiary of Naftohaz Ukrainy national joint-stock company, has instructed gas supplying companies to disconnect 21 heating enterprises from gas.
Ukrainian News learned this from the press service of Haz Ukrainy.
"Haz Ukrainy subsidiary company ordered the enterprises that supply gas and install gas services [oblhazes] to interrupt supply of gas to 21 more enterprise of the fuel and energy sector," the report reads.
The decision was taken because of big debts and low rate of payments among the heating utilities for gas they consumed since the start of the 2007-2008 heating season.
Their collective debt for natural gas consumed from October 1, 2007 exceeded UAH 2.084 billion and the rate of payment was 67% as of May 14.
The worst debtors are Donetskteplokomunenerho (the debt is UAH 100.4 million, the rate of payment is 53%), the City Heating Networks of Zaporizhia (UAH 82.8 million, 70%), Krymteploenerho (UAH 66.2 million, 60%), and Makiivteplomerezha (UAH 42.7 million, 42%).
Gas supply to the heating enterprises for production of heating energy will be resumed only after they settle their debts for natural gas.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Haz Ukrainy ordered oblhazes on May 7 to disconnect 28 heating companies from gas.
Haz Ukrainy will cut off gas supplies to heating enterprises as of June 1 if they fail to make 100% payment for natural gas they consumed during the 2007/2008 heating season.
Haz Ukrainy will conclude no contracts for supply of natural gas with such heating enterprises in the future.
Heating enterprises are supplied imported natural gas.
