The Cabinet of Ministers boasts an 8% growth in January-April industrial production.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko announced this in her opening statement at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
"We can boast this indicator. Plus 8% for January-April is a rapid growth of industrial production," Tymoshenko said.
She noted that this growth is a precondition for an increase in family incomes and average wage.
Tymoshenko stressed that despite high inflation, wages grew by 13.3% in January-March and population's incomes by almost 20%.
The prime minister added that her Cabinet could observe a two-fold slowdown in inflation in the first ten days of May compared with the same period in April.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, industrial production grew by 8.3% in April 2008 compared with April 2007.
Inflation was 3.1% in April, 3.8% in March and 9.7% in January-March.
January-April inflation totaled 13.1%.
When drafting the 2008 national budget, the Cabinet of Ministers based it on the inflation indicator of 9.6%.
