Experts with the Agency for Modeling Situations believe that it is dangerous for President Viktor Yuschenko to escalate the current confrontation with Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
The agency announced this in a statement.
"Tymoshenko is an outstanding anti-crisis politician capable of conducting effective debate in extreme political situations while Yuschenko always gravitates toward the search for a compromise. This is why the latest escalation of relations will hit Yuschenko's image and rating more palpably," said the agency's Director Vitalii Bala.
According to him, Yuschenko's team is presently not ready for active actions because it does not have a powerful political force at its disposal, unlike the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.
"This is specifically why Yuschenko cannot allow himself to enter into a conflict that will unavoidably result in total elections," Bala said.
According to him, the Presidential Secretariat is losing the current battle involving escalation of informational confrontation in terms of its dynamics and the tone of statements.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, confrontation between Yuschenko and Tymoshenko escalated at the start of 2008 because of a power struggle.
Yuschenko and Tymoshenko drafted their own versions of amendments to the Ukrainian constitution that provided for increasing their own powers and reducing the powers of the other.
Meanwhile, the pro-Yuschenko Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense bloc and the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc formally belong to the ruling coalition.
However, Tymoshenko has warned Yuschenko that the partnership between the two could end.
