Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has denied the report that she is making preparations for the 2010 presidential elections.

She made this statement to the press in the Verkhovna Rada backrooms.

"I am not getting ready for the next elections [of the President]," she said.

Tymoshenko said the main cause of the political crisis in the country is preparations for the future presidential elections among some political forces.

She stressed that she does not see alternative to the democratic coalition and is going to take every effort to overcome negative tendencies in the Ukrainian political and economic life.

At the same time, Verkhovna Rada deputy, member of the Party of Regions faction Taras Chornovil said the blocking of the parliament work by the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko on Tuesday testified to confrontation between President Viktor Yuschenko and Tymoshenko ahead of the presidential elections.

Tymoshenko said Yuschenko is criticizing her Cabinet of Ministers in order to get rid of her as a competitor in the 2010 presidential elections.
