88% Of Kyiv International Sociology Institute's Pollees Positive About Russia (14:10, Monday, May 12, 2008)

A total of 88% of pollees questioned by Kyiv International Sociology Institute are positive about Russia.

This is disclosed in poll results, text of which Ukrainian News has.

At the same time, 47.3% of respondents are very positive about Russia; 40.7% are mainly positive; 4.5% are mainly negative; 2.3% are very negative; and 5.1% failed to answer.

Besides, the respondents were asked what kind of relations should be established between Ukraine and Russia.

66.7% of the pollees said that Ukraine and Russia have to be independent but friendly states with visa-free regime and without customs; 20.3%, Ukraine and Russia have to unite into one state; 10.2%, relations between Ukraine and Russia have to be the same as relations with other countries; and 2.8% found it difficult to answer the question.

The poll was held on April 4-13.

A total of 2,037 respondents took part in the poll.

The ceiling sampling error does not exceed 3.5%.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, according to the poll held by all-Russian public opinion center on April 5-6, 21% of Russian citizens consider Ukraine a Russian enemy.
