First Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Turchynov has said that Kyiv is ready to host the annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) that is scheduled for May 18-19.
Turchynov was speaking to journalists.
"99% of the work (involving preparation for the meeting) has already been done," Turchynov said.
In particular, according to him, the government monitored the readiness of the infrastructures necessary for hosting the meeting.
These infrastructures include the Ukraina hotel, the International Arts and Culture Center (the October Palace), and several others.
Over 3,000 people visitors are expected to attend the meeting.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the EBRD decided in 2007 to hold its 2008 annual meeting in Ukraine.
Last year's annual meeting of the EBRD took place in Kazan (Russia) from May 20 to 21.
Kyiv first hosted an annual meeting of the EBRD in May 1998.
