On May 8, Ukrainian Ambassador to Pakistan Ihor Pasko made a trip to the province of Punjab in Pakistan to meet with leaders of the chamber of commerce and industry and representatives of business circles.
The sides exchanged opinions on the ways to step up the Ukrainian-Pakistani cooperation in trade, economy, and the investment sector.
In particular, the sides discussed a number of practical issues concerning the potential of certain sectors of the Ukrainian economy, such as the banking sector, the mechanical engineering sector, the chemical and energy industry.
The sides focused on the preparations for the first ever exhibition EXPO Pakistan 2008 to take place in Kyiv in October.
The meetings indicated the interest of Pakistan in establishing direct contacts with Ukrainian industrialists and entrepreneurs that will facilitate the consolidation of bilateral relations on the wide range of issues.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in April, Pakistan said it favored the cooperation with Ukraine in the high-tech sector.
