President Viktor Yuschenko has left for a one-day visit to Lithuania to meet with local officials.
Ukrainian News learned this from the presidential press service.
During the visit, Yuschenko is scheduled to meet with President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and take part in a meeting of the council of the Ukrainian and Lithuanian presidents.
At the end of the talks, the President is expected to sign a joint statement of the Ukrainian and Lithuanian presidents.
He will also meet with Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas and Seimas Speaker Ceslovas Jursenas.
His visit to the Museum of Genocide Victims and opening of a display on Ukraine's Famine of 1932-1933 is on the visit schedule.
As Ukrainian News reported, Lithuania is ready to help Ukraine inform the population about NATO.
Yuschenko visited Lithuania in October 2007 to take part in the energy summit.
