Verkhovna Rada deputy Mykhailo Polianchych of the Our Ukraine People's Self-Defense Bloc faction has requested the Prosecutor General's Office to investigate the actions of Andrii Portnov in the post of acting chairman of the State Property Fund.
Ukrainian News learned this from the press service of the United Center party.
According to the report, Polianchych has sent a deputy appeal to Prosecutor General Oleksandr Medvedko with request to conduct the necessary investigation.
"I request legal assessment of Portnov's actions with respect to the foundation of the new official publication, Privatization Herald, and change of the SPF regulations saying that the Cabinet of Ministers stamp is required to attest the signature of the SPF head," the deputy appeal reads.
He also wants the Prosecutor General's Office to probe the report that Portnov destroyed some copies of the Privatization Bulletin weekly.
Polianchych expressed concern about the situation at the SPF.
"In fact, we can see dual power in the leadership of the SPF, an attempt to seize premises of the Fund, use an alternative stamp, non-execution of President's decrees by the prime minister," he said.
Polianchych also demands reaction from the general prosecutor to the rejection by the government of the April 25 prosecutors' protest to the Cabinet directive on removal of Semeniuk-Samsonenko from office of the SPF chairwoman and Cabinet approval of the terms of competition to sell the Odesa portside plant.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Valentyna Semeniuk-Samsonenko, whom the Cabinet of Ministers has recently suspended from office of the State Property Fund head, asked the Prosecutor-General's Office on May 7 to investigate the illegal manufacture of the SPF duplicate stamp.
On April 25, Tymoshenko introduced Portnov to the SPF staff as acting chairman, referring to an April 24 decision by Kyiv District Administrative Court, which suspended President Viktor Yuschenko's decrees that suspended the replacement of the SPF leadership.
Later, Yuschenko again suspended the SPF reshuffle by the Cabinet by his decree of April 25.
