UPDATE: Defense Ministry To Fire Salute In Nine Cities On Victory Day (16:01, Thursday, May 8, 2008)

The Defense Ministry is intending to fire salute in nine cities of Ukraine on the Victory Day on May 9.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the Defense Ministry, quoting an order by Defense Minister Yurii Yekhanurov.

According to the order, the ministry will hold fireworks in Kyiv, Sevastopol, Odesa, Kerch, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Rivne, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zhytomyr.

The fireworks will start at 21:00.

General Headquarters Chief Serhii Kyrychenko has been made responsible for the fireworks.

Ukraine celebrates the Victory Day on May 9.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Defense Ministry planned to hold fireworks in 11 cities of Ukraine on May 9.
