Prosecutor-General Oleksandr Medvedko cancelled the order on charging Former Interior Minister Vasyl Tsushko with abusing his authority as part of the case involving the seizure of the PGO house in May 2007.
He made this announcement at a news briefing.
"I decided to cancel the order of charging him," said Medvedko.
In his words, this was done due to violation of a procedure required by the Criminal Proceedings Code.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Prosecutor-General's Office charged Tsushko with abusing his authority as part of the case involving the seizure of the PGO house in May 2007.
According to the PGO, charges against him were brought in Russia.
Later on the Socialist Party press service denied the information that Tsushko is hiding in Russia and told that the ex-minister is undergoing treatment in Germany.
Officers from the Berkut special riot police unit smashed the entrance door of the Prosecutor-General's Office building and the door of the reception room of the PGO on May 24, 2007.
All this happened after the dismissal of Prosecutor-General Sviatoslav Piskun.
The PGO launched a criminal case against Tsushko on May 25, 2007, accusing him of abusing his powers.
