A 3 Richter scale earthquake occurred in Odesa at about 11:00 a.m. on May 7.
Ukrainian News learned this from a representative of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and Protection of Population against Chornobyl Disaster Consequences.
The representative said the epicenter of the earthquake was sixty kilometers to the south from Zmiinyi Island in the Black Sea.
He said Odesa registered a 3 Richter scale earthquake at about 11:00 a.m. [Richter Earthquake Magnitudes Effects less than 3.5 are generally not felt, but recorded]. [Consequently] there are no victims of the earthquake.
He did not know whether or not seismologists expected new shocks.
Odesa is home for over 1 million people.
