French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel will visit Ukraine in June.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko announced the visits during the filming of a special television project of Ukraina TV channel entitled "World War Two. Lessons for Ukraine."

Yuschenko said the visits would take place within one-and-a-half months.

He said the visits would be dedicated to the memory of soldiers of World War Two.

Yuschenko said it was necessary to draw up a special state program to honor the memory of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War and study the true history of that period.

The project will be broadcast at 21:30 on May 8.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, 65% of Ukrainians regard the Victory Day as a great holiday, according to a poll conducted by the Razumkov Center.
