Tymoshenko Predicting Inflation Fall In May, June (12:36, Wednesday, May 7, 2008)

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is predicting further decline in inflation growth rates in May and June.

Tymoshenko said this while opening the Cabinet of Ministers' meeting on Wednesday.

"We will have positive tendencies and dynamics in May and June," she said.

Tymoshenko also pointed to reducing inflation pace in April, calling it good news.

She says deflation was registered in April by more than 20 products that influence inflation rate.

Tymoshenko confirmed the government's commitment to reduce inflation pace by July, and hit the target figure.

As Ukrainian News reported, in April consumer prices grew by 3.1%, in March they rose by 3.8%, and by 9.7% in January - March.

In January - April, inflation rate totaled 13.1%.

Developing the budget for 2008, the Cabinet fixed inflation at 9.6%.
