The commission responsible for considering applications for licenses to export certain types of agricultural products intends to hold a meeting on May 9, during which it plans to consider distributing quotas for export of grain.
The Ukrainian Grain Association announced this in a statement, a text of which Ukrainian News obtained.
"The Ukrainian Economics Ministry will convene a meeting of the commission responsible for considering applications for licenses to export certain types of agricultural products and distributing quotas... The commission's meeting will take place at 15:00 on May 9, 2008," the statement says.
The meeting will take place at 8, Lvivska Square (room 904).
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Economics Ministry has started registering applications for export of grain under the quota that was set on April 28.
The Cabinet of Ministers resolution No. 418 dated April 23 increased the quota for export of barley by 500,000 tons to 900,000 tons and the quota for export of wheat and wheat-and-rye mixtures by 1 million to 1.2 million tons and extended the period of validity of these quotas until July 1.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko announced on April 23 that the Cabinet of Ministers has abolished export quotas for grain.
The Cabinet of Ministers resolution No. 271 of March 28 extended the export quotas for wheat (200,000 tons), barley (400,000 tons), and rye (3,000 tons) from March 31 to April 30.
