On May 5 five people were killed after a passenger train collided with a car near the village of Anysiv, Chernihiv district, Chernihiv region.
This follows from a statement of the department of the Emergency Situations and Protection of Population from Chornobyl Disaster Consequences Ministry in Chernihiv region.
According to the statement, a VAZ-2106 and a passenger train Chernihiv - Kyiv collided on a rail crossing at 6:35 a.m.
The accident killed the driver and four passengers of the car.
The train was stopped for forty minutes; no passenger complained injuries or aggravation.
Operation groups of the main department of the Emergency Situations Ministry in Chernihiv region are working at the scene.
An employee of the Emergency Situations Ministry department told to Ukrainian News that the 69-year-old driver, Chernihiv resident, drove onto the crossing when the colour light signal was red and the blow threw the car thirty meters aside.
As to him, the driver's wife was near him and three more women at the back seat of the car.
During the collision all the four women fell out of the car and died.
They had to saw the car in order to take the driver's body out of it.
