Kyiv-based Credit Rating agency considers that introduction of mandatory state social medical insurance would threaten development of private insurance medicine, reads the message from the agency.
According to the agency, the bill "On mandatory state social medical insurance" offers to reorganize the Fund of social temporary incapacitation insurance into the Fund of state social medical insurance and authorize it with functions of an insurance company.
According to the agency, it may entail monopolization of the relevant segment of the insurance market and create situation, when the insurers may be left without considerable part of revenues from medical insurance: both mandatory and voluntary.
"...plans on creation of branched system of private hospitals may fail due to risk of demand lack," leading financial analyst of the rating agency Tetiana Hulyk said.
According to the Credit Agency, currently, the following insurance companies already have network of own medical institutions: Dobrobut, Ukrainian Insurance Group, Illichivsk insurance union, and TAS insurance group, etc.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in March 2008, the Committee for the issues of social policy and labor of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considered and suggested taking the bill "On mandatory state social medical insurance" as the basis.
