Verkhovna Rada Deputy Taras Stetskiv of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc faction has said Presidential Secretariat Head Viktor Baloha is the curator of the Yedynyi Tsentr [United Center] party.
He gave his opinion on the Ukraina TV channel on Thursday evening.
"I can wish achievements to the United Center party, which is most likely supervised by Viktor Baloha. I think the achievement will be close to zero," he said.
In his opinion, the creation of the party was the agony of some MPs of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc faction, who had earlier left the Our Ukraine People's Union party.
"I think this looks like illustration of the agony of the people who wanted to ruin the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc on the whole and the Our Ukraine People's Union party in particular," he said.
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko is also skeptical about the foundation of the United Center party.
She made this announcement live on television at Studio 1+1 on Thursday.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the first congress of the party was held in Kyiv on March 27.
The new party includes MPs of the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense Bloc, who had earlier left the Our Ukraine People's Union party, including Oksana Bilozir, Ihor Kril, Lesia Orobets, Mykhailo Polianchych, and Viktor Topolov.
In January 2008, Presidential Secretariat Head Viktor Baloha left the Our Ukraine People's Union party, of which President Viktor Yuschenko is honorary president.
