Average Wages Up By 7.3% To UAH 1,633 Per Month In February (18:08, Wednesday, March 26, 2008)

In February, average wages rose by 7.3% compared with January, to UAH 1,633 per month, the State Statistics Committee has informed.

The highest rate of average wages was registered in the city of Kyiv at UAH 2,730 per month, an increase of 6% compared to January.

The lowest rate of average wages was registered in Ternopil region at UAH 1,161 per month, an increase of 8.2% compared to January.

Compared with February 2007, average wages in February 2008 rose by 43% or UAH 491 from UAH 1,142 per month.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in January 2008, average wages fell by 9.2% compared with December 2007, to UAH 1,521 per month.
