President Viktor Yuschenko has suspended the Cabinet of Ministers' transfer of the State Mortgage Institution management to the Finance Ministry from the State Agency for Investments and Innovations.
This follows from the president's decree No. 257/2008 dated March 24.
Besides, the president filed a petition to the Constitutional Court on correspondence to the Constitution of clauses 2, 3, and 4 of the Cabinet's resolution named "On some issues of the State Mortgage Institution" dated January 23, of the Cabinet's directives named "On rescinding the Cabinet of Ministers' directive No. 976 of November 8, 2007", the government directive "ON cancellation of the Cabinet of Ministers' directive No. 190 of April 13, 2007" dated February 27.
Yuschenko told that the mentioned Cabinet acts predetermine worsening of operation and narrowing of the scope of activity of the State Agency for Investments and Innovations.
"Fulfillment of the above-stated acts of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers would inevitably lead to systematic worsening of investment and innovation activities," reads the decree.
The head of state instructed the president's envoy to the Constitutional Court Maryna Stavniichuk to participate constitutional proceedings into the submission.
As Ukrainian News reported, February 8 Yuschenko suspended the Cabinet from appointing deputy chairpersons of the State Property Fund and sent a relevant submission to the Constitutional Court.
