Ukrposhta Delivers At Home UAH 34.52 Million Of Compensation For Deposits In Former USSR's Sberbank (11:58, Wednesday, March 26, 2008)

The state-owned Ukrposhta postal agency delivered at home UAH 34.247 million in compensation to depositors of the former Soviet Union's Savings Bank as of March 25.

Ukrposhta disclosed this in the statement, a copy of which Ukrainian News has obtained.

In general, Ukrposhta delivered UAH 36.737 million in compensation to depositors as of March 25.

As of March 25 Ukrposhta affiliates received 38,267 papers from the state-owned Savings Bank for UAH 35.638 million.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Ukrposhta started delivering compensation payments to depositors of the former Soviet Union's Savings Bank on February 7.

The Finance Ministry has allocated UAH 50 million for payment of compensations to compensation to depositors of the former Soviet Union's Savings Bank through the Ukrposhta postal agency.

UAH 396 million was allocated to the state-owned Savings Bank (Oschadbank) in January for payment of the compensation.

The Cabinet of Ministers directed employees of Ukrposhta to deliver compensation for citizens' depreciated deposits with the former USSR's Savings Bank to their homes free of charge.

Money received from Oschadbank for delivery and payment of compensations will be used to pay the Ukrposhta employees involved in the process.
