The European Party has decided to take part in the early elections to the Kyiv City Council.
Ukrainian News learned this from the party press service, which cited the decision of the political council.
"We have taken a unanimous clear position on our participation in the Kyiv city council and state our intention to take an active part in the renewal of the city authorities, who must conduct a transparent policy in the interests of Kyivans," the press service quoted party leader Mykola Katerynchuk as saying.
The political council adjourned its meeting until March 28 when it will announce its position on participation in the mayoral elections in Kyiv.
"Our political force will make a decision on nominating a candidate for the post of Kyiv mayor after March 28," Katerynchuk said.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada has called the early mayoral and city council elections in Kyiv for May 25.
