The debt of Ukraine's population for housing and utility services rose by 1.5% or by UAH 126.1 million to UAH 8,645.1 million in February.
The State Statistics Committee reported this to Ukrainian News.
The debt on apartment rent rose by UAH 2.7 million and totaled UAH 1,408.9 million as of March 10, 2008.
The debt for heating services rose by UAH 180.0 million to UAH 4,168.9 million.
The debt for gas supply fell by UAH 67.7 million to UAH 1,354.1 million.
In February, like in the previous month, the largest debt for central heating services was registered in the regions of Donetsk (UAH 772.086 million), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 723.795 million), and Kharkiv (UAH 595.459 million); for gas supply in the regions of Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 178.177 million), Luhansk (UAH 151.726 million), and Donetsk (UAH 125.537 million).
The largest debt on apartment rent in February was reported for the regions of Donetsk (UAH 275.970 million), Dnipropetrovsk (UAH 232.464 million), and Luhansk (UAH 142.430 million).
As Ukrainian News reported earlier, the debt of Ukraine's population for housing and utility services rose by 6.4% or by UAH 509.1 million to UAH 8,519.0 million in January.
